What are bilingual books?
Bilingual books, which are also called dual-language books, are books where the original text and the translation are printed side-by-side. Simply put, each page is printed twice. On the one hand, you have the original text in English. On the other hand, you’ve got the parallel translation into another language. For example, you can find English-to-French books, English-to-Japanese books, English-to-Portuguese books, etc.
Why are they convenient for ESL learners?
They’re helpful tools for improving your English reading skills and expanding your English vocabulary. Because the translation is already provided on the opposite page, you don’t need to open your dictionary every time that you come across a new word. Therefore, you can spend more time reading and finish the book faster.
